FAQ

Is there a JBGC in my area?

The John Brown Gun Club movement is decentralized, with each chapter completely independent from one another. As such, there is no central database, but the closest thing to one is the list of all known chapters we once held on our website in an effort to utilize our good SEO to funnel people all around the country into their local JBGCs. We compiled this list the same way you would; by finding any online trace of them. But, JBGC presences online are the corpse of clubs long-dead. Only a handful of JBGCs are active, to our knowledge. If you wish to find out if a branch is near you, simply search for it online. And, if there is, attempt to contact them and see what happens. If not, there is nothing stopping you from creating your branch from scratch.

How do I start my own JBGC?

Given the decentralized nature of our movement, there are no requirements for new people looking to start their own branch. They can simply do so.

Do event organizers welcome you?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. While we make reasonable concessions to make event organizers happy with our presence, we do not make a habit out of subjecting ourselves to the authority of liberal event organizers. Democrats and liberals, both intentionally & unintentionally, have played a major historical role in co-opting and pacifying effective workers' movements for the state. In order to ensure that revolutionary voices are not silent, our defiance on this matter is sometimes necessary.

Does your community welcome you?

Acknowledging that anything political will be divisive, we are very well-received among young & diverse crowds. The young have learned not to replicate the failures of older liberals who've been trying the same methods their entire life and failing yet telling them to do the same. They know that more radical solutions are necessary. Members of marginalized communities have consistently voiced that they feel safer with us at protests. Our success in our community and our target demographic is also expressed by those that dislike us the most; old white liberals and those in proximity to the dramatic cliques that run the Madison protest scene.
